Fixed and removable prosthodontics

Fixed prosthodontics involves the fabrication of teeth from various materials to replace missing teeth or protect teeth that have undergone endodontic treatment or have been damaged by decay. Conventional bridges are cemented onto existing teeth and cannot be removed. They can be made of:

METAL-CERAMICS: In such works, ceramic entirely covers the metal framework. This standard solution is long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing, and functionally very satisfactory.

ZIRCONIA CERAMIC CROWNS: Modern material - zirconia (ZrO), instead of a metal framework. It is white in color, allowing for excellent aesthetic results. They are computer-made, ensuring exceptional precision.

In the impossibility of making fixed prosthetic works, removable dentures, partial or complete, are made.

PARTIAL dentures are made when one or more natural teeth are missing. They can be all made of plastic (acrylic) with clasps, or of metal (skeleton) and acrylic with clasps or hinge connections.

COMPLETE dentures have a base of plastic (acrylic) material or a combination with a metal base. They can be conventional, cover (retained on natural tooth roots), or anchored on implants.

The process of making a denture involves several stages. An impression is taken and sent to the dental laboratory. The patient comes for several fittings to determine the bite, shape, size, and color of the teeth.

Several days after the denture is placed, the patient comes for a bite check and denture adjustment. Dentures can also be attached to implants.Partial dentures are made when there is a certain number of teeth. The teeth carrying the load must be healthy and firmly held in the bone.

Partial dentures enable the attachment of the denture to the remaining teeth using clasps made of metal that encompass the range of teeth. It is also possible to make combined works, such as a fixed bridge connected to a denture with invisible clasps.
